On last night’s telecircle class, I offered a guided imagery I wrote called “The Lenses of Gratitude.” Here are the some of the ideas I shared:
First of all relax, slow down, and let insights COME to you rather than trying to arrive at them with your rational mind:
Imagine yourself putting on a set of glasses...the lenses are clear, pristine, and polished to perfection. You see through them with unusual clarity and purity. The glasses belong to the spirit of Gratitude.
With the lenses on, look again at any situation you are in that seems to be a challenge or a problem. Consider these questions as you reflect on the situation:
- what can it teach you?
- what love will it attract to you?
- what love will it ask you to give?
- in what ways does it remind you to love yourself?
- in what ways does it ask you to love another?
- what beauty about YOU does it make you more aware of?
- what beauty about another does it ask you to be more present to?
- how will it expand what you have to give back to others?
- what talent, gift, virtue or quality will it strengthen in you?
Can you, through the lenses of gratitude, see beyond what is on the surface in the situation? Can you see bigger than before? deeper than before? from a higher perspective?
When I put the lenses of gratitude ON, I find that I do not want to take them off. The feeling I live in is just way too beautiful!
Let me know if the “lenses of gratitude” change what you experience in your situation....
