Since it’s a beautiful, sunny Saturday, here’s a week-end-ish post!
Today, my husband and I took off for a short road trip up to Terra Alta and Kingwood, both at higher elevations in wild, wonderful West Virginia.
What beautiful scenery: summer-hazed mountains, tree-shrouded curvy roads, rolling pastures, alpine lakes and beautiful people enjoying nature.
We had lunch at Monroe’s in Kingwood: a delightful country store and deli-style restaurant providing great sandwhiches, Appalachian ambience and down home service.
At the check-out, we purchased a CD called “West Virginia Serenade” by Keith and Joan Pitzer (see www.fallingmountain.com). They serenaded us as we wound our way home with music reflecting blue grass, celtic and folk heritages. How wonderful!
I came home percolating with creative ideas for both wisdomsources and for www.vibrantwidows.com, a website and blog that I will debut soon.
I’m fascinated by the fact that forays into nature always prove to be so nourishing, refreshing...and provide so much creative inspiration.
Whenever I get creatively stuck, I often seek inspiration in the wildneress around me. I know I’m not alone. A colleague of mine took of this week for a wilderness vacation, acknowledging that no other type of respite refuels and elevates her in the same way.
By the way, a hummingbird, a symbol of joy and lightness is vibrating outside my window as I speak. How I enjoy their color and beauty!
This week-end, I wish you the opportunity to connect with and treasure the beauty of nature. She will nourish your spirit and help you SOAR creatively...in whatever joyful direction you choose!
Tell me about your favorite nature spots! And, oh...if you ever have the chance to travel to the incredible, pristine, elemental, astonishing state of West Virginia....don’t miss the opportunity!
